Thumbs up Linore Burkhard ~ Before the Season Ends

Hello there Kitty! long time no see How are you doing this season with summer over and fall quickly ending? Been busy myself as you can see.
No I haven't heard of this writer I have posted some sequelers but none in the same genre. It sounds promising by the website just the sort of thing I would read as long as it isn't too close to Mills and Boon or Harlequin.
I will order it and read it but I think you are safe with this one as it doesn't give me that impression of being a bodice-ripper.
Very rare to find a writer who writes in this day and age who doesn't rely on these kind of things to sell a book. Some people like simple romance with hints here and there but not graphic stuff.

Take Care and come round more often as I am trying to come up with more topics.

Hello Stella. Yes, I have been very busy of late, and I have now read a lot of topics on the message board. They are all very interesting! I did end up reading the book and found it was quite slow and not very interesting as the first half of the book. But it was worth a try.
At the moment I'm reading Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters which is very refreshing.

Default Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters

I would be very interested to hear about Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters. IT sounds very interesting and I just gave it as a gift yesterday. I hope the professor I gave it to will enjoy it. I sometimes find those add ins funny but I also know I will always prefer the original novel. I have also read that like 80% of S&S and SM is the original text. Do you find this to be accurate? How much of the original is left verse how much is changed verses how much is added? That is what I want to know.

Default Sssm

Yes, SSSM is largely the same text of the original novel. At some moments there were chunks completely the same, but as the plot thickened with action, the sea monsters were moreso dominant. I do believe this to be a book with a good sense of balance between action and the context of Jane Austen

--I would hope so and in the same humour as P&P and Zombies which by the way was a howl just imagining 95' Barbara Leigh Hunt being a master of ninjas. I imagine it is between S&S and Pirates of the Caribbean is that true? I still haven't read it yet but the clip I posted gave me that impression

yes, it has a similar adventure feeling to pirates of the carribean! and there are some action parts with marianne and elinor which are just fantastic. i have a feeling that they will consider writing a similar edition about Northanger Abbey, how exciting that would be!

Yes, and I am glad you think so too! Unlike some I actually do like these mashups as long as some of the content is true to Jane I am sure if she were around today she would be flattered. Some sequels and spinoffs are better than others. I won't go to the film versions I think it would spoil it for me. Besides I am not much of a horror zombie girl. But I think the books are a lot of fun and make me chuckle and now that you have given appraisal of it I will definitely put it on my must pick up list.
I am behind in my books having computer problems doesn't help. If you have any other recommendations please let us know.

Stella
